Teachers, administrators, and directors of curriculum and instruction should all be involved in the creation of a curriculum guides. It should be a collaborative effort. It's purpose should be a guide for teachers to get ideas for plans and should list objectives that students need to complete.

When creating a curriculum guide it is important to have collaboration and different ideas from differnt viewpoints. Some SOLs are not straightforward and the information that ideas and lessons that can be derived from them can be totally different. A curriculum guide should include input from curriculum developers, teachers, and administrators. The purpose of a curriculum guide should be a tool that aids teachers in planning and developing a teaching plan for specific teaching areas.
In our school division teachers, administrators and the director of instruction are all involved in creating curriculum guides. They are used to help teacehrs to meet instructional goals and objectives, evaluation purposes and to help with ideas for supplementary materials.
I feel there should be a wide range of educators and other persons to be included in creating the curriculum. Besides teachers, administrators, and parents I would not mind asking people from the community at least their perspective of what they think are things that might would be a focus in the "working world."
